13 Bible Verses About Love

1. A loving doe, a graceful deer—may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love.
(Prov 5:19 NIV)

2. Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs. (Prov 10:12 NIV)

3. Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth—for your love is more delightful than wine.
(Song of Solomon 1:2 NIV)

4. Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death...
(Song of Solomon 8:6 NIV)

5. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13 NIV)

6. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (I Cor 13:4-7 NIV)

7. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her... (Eph 5:25 NIV)

8. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Col 3:14 NIV)

9. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. (I Pet 4:8 NIV)

10. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. (I John 3:16 NIV)

11. Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. (I John 3:18 NIV)

12. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (I John 4:8 NIV)

13. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (I John 4:18 NIV)

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. Definitely one of my favorites.

Happy V. day.

To love with actions, that encourages me the most to be active in my love for others, rather than just saying something... to do something is more in line with Jesus.. he loved us so much .. he died for us.
I joined the Show and Tell Fridays, and between that and your Marriage Mondays, I think I should be careful what I commit to.
Happy Valentines Day ((((((e-Mom)))))

Hi E-Mom

What a different world it would be if we all truly loved like 1 Corinthians 13. Great post.

I love that first verse. At times I read through Proverbs, a chapter a day, and I always pick a verse or two to pray, and I always prayed that for my marriage when I came across it.

Nicholas: Thanks!

Lori: I do too! :~D

Jennifer: You are a wise woman to be praying the Scriptures over your marriage! Nice to see you here. :~D
