Welcome to Marriage Monday
If you’re new here today, please make yourself at home. As you may have turned up unexpectedly, I should introduce myself. My name is e-Mom [hello]. Welcome to my weblog. I’m a happily married SAHM with two lovable kids. We just celebrated our 29th anniversary last weekend and we’re happier than ever. We live in the Pacific Northwest (USA), I drink extra-foamy green tea lattes, and reading is my passion—after Jesus Christ of course.
Option 1: Write About Submission
Marriage Monday meets here the first Monday of every month. In last month’s poll most of you voted to discuss submission in marriage as the topic for this week. So let's
do it! Write your heart out and then link up here at Chrysalis. (Scroll down for Mister Linky.) Make sure you leave a PERMALINK by Friday Nov. 9, 2007.
Option 2: Bible Study on Submission
If you’re feeling at a loss for words, here’s another option. Copy and paste the complete Bible study here and share your answers on your blog. Five teaser questions from the Bible study are right below. Then come back and link up. (Scroll down for Misty Linky.) Make sure you leave a PERMALINK, by Friday Nov. 9, 2007. I’ll post my answers to the Bible study here on Monday Nov. 12, 2007.

What an absolute perfect image of submission...I love ice dancing, and I never really thought of it before, but you're right! It's a perfect example of submitting one to another!
I just posted mine. I may have gotten a tad bit long-winded, but hopefully not so long that everyone will fall asleep mid-post. ;)
Thanks for hosting this, emom!
This was such a great post. I "LOVE" the video. I am so glad that you have took over "Marriage Monday".
Thanks,
Lori
Hi! Today is my first time linking up with Marriage Monday. I've read others in previous months so I'm taking the plunge today! What a topic to start with!
You are right, marriage is a lot of like ice skating. It is not about one person ruling over another. Rather, it is about working together.
Hi E-mom,
Thanks so much for hosting this Marriage Monday. What a beautiful way to honor the greatest union God created.
This is my first Marriage Monday and I was excited to participate.
The video was awesome, what a perfect illustration of submission.
Thanks for sharing this. Be blessed today on Marriage Monday!
Susan
e-mom,
Love this post. Thanks again for doing this! I loved the video you chose to put on here too. Very good example.
Thanks! Praying for your marriage today!
Blessings,
Angela
Ice skating really is a wonderful example!
I've been looking forward to this since last month. Thanks for hosting!
That's a wonderful analogy! Thanks for keeping Marriage Monday going and for this wonderful post!
The video made me want to cry (OK I'm cry easily!) This is my first marriage Monday and I am excited now to go visit all the other ladies and read their posts.
I'm also going to do the Bible study too. I'm excited to learn and grow more and have those familiar passages come to me like fresh water
Thanks e-mom - as always you do a beautiful job!! God bless you and your husband.
The Lord has laid on my heart the subject of submission and I wrote on the subject on October 30, 2007. Thank you for an added image on submission. I was unable to see the vidio. I will add a post on the subject.
OH!
So I am supposed to write on my own blog. I had no idea what this is all about as I've never been involved with this. Okay, now I know.
perfect picture. true submission brings true freedom!
I hope your anniversary was special. 29 years huh? That is a long time. I pray you get to enjoy that many more!!
Kind of off topic ... but Troy and I are huge Marc Cohn fans (the writer and singer of True Companion) and we just got to see him last week in concert!
TOUGH subject, e-Mom. I'm not sure I know too many women who don't bristle a little at the word, even if they practice it! Yet, it's a topic we shouldn't ignore either. It can be too costly to marriages not to understand it.
Ladies, you've done some outstanding writing on this difficult topic. I'm just blown away by the wisdom you put out there in the blogosphere. The Lord is glorified in YOU! Thank you so much for linking here today. I can hardly wait to meet you all in heaven. Love, e-Mom
Tammy: I thoroughly enjoyed your post...not long-winded at all!

Jana: Sorry you had to wait a whole month. Maybe we'll step up the pace after Christmas. Thanks for linking. Like all the rest, your post was awesome.
Lori: You are so welcome. :~)
Living Beyond Myself: Shhhh.. it's a secret: the video made me cry too. Thanks for linking today, and do enjoy the Bible study. I will tell my husband you mentioned him. :~)
Joyce: Thanks for your link! But I'm so sorry you missed seeing the video. Try double-clicking the large arrow. :~)
Connie Marie: Sorry for the confusion. :~) Maybe you'll have some time to write about submission this week? Hugs.
Ruth A post in a word: submission=freedom. Brilliant!
Julie: Thanks for your anniversary wishes. It seems like our wedding was yesterday. :~)
Tara: I admit I love this song! So you saw Marc Cohn in concert recently? Awesome!
Tami: I agree, it's a much misunderstood word, and marriages do suffer terribly when it's not applied properly. You have such a healthy understanding of submission and trust, and I hope you're sharing your knowledge with other younger women. :~)
Yikes. I linked up before I read your post. I wrote about contentment. Sorry. I'll follow the topic closely next time.
This is an awesome subject, something I think we as women all struggle with you are on the right track, it is cool how the holy spirit works he has been dealing with this in me for some time.
O gracious, I had noted floating all of the place as I had tried to put together my post...Thanks for hosting this!!! I am looking forward to reading what everyone has shared.
hey! If I get to this this week, I'll post something on submisson/marriage. Been working on this, as my husband could tell you!
I tried so hard to post on MONDAY, but I posted after midnight but at least I did something on submission. It is good to write down how I believe about this. Now I will visit the other blogs.
Jan: Your post was lovely. Don't worry about the topic! Thanks for joining us.
Theresa: The Holy Spirit is the ultimate teacher. Praise God He works on areas we need to grow in--for our own benefit, as well as others'. Thanks for participating in MM. :~)
Jessie: Thanks for working so hard on your piece for MM. It really showed. I usually have post-it notes all over my monitor... LOL
Jennifer: Please do link up your post on submission when you get a chance. Blessings!
Connie Marie: You made it! Thanks for joining us for Marriage Monday this week. :~) Your thoughts were so beautiful.
